Olivier de Schutter – European weekend

‘A COORDINATED FOOD STRATEGY FOR THE EUROPEAN UNION’

Olivier de Schutter (LL.M., Harvard University) is Professor at the Catholic University of Louvain, at the College of Europe and at Sciences Po, as well as a member of the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Formerly General Secretary of the International Federation for Human Rights and special rapporteur for the United Nations, he has always worked on drawing the attention of the International Community to food security and environment protection concerns. He will tell us about the coordinated food strategy for the European Union, a proposal that he brought forward with IPES-Food and multiple NGOs, and which the new President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen incorporated into her European Green Deal.
